I make custom sheaths for all kinds of working and bushcraft style knives. Each sheath is made individually and will fit the knife perfectly. It will be made precisely to fit the owner's requirements.
There is no short cut to a good knife sheath. Top quality leather, a good design and skilled craftsmanship will give you what you are looking for. Why waste your time with cheap imitations?
The average custom sheath costs around £35 to £65. More elaborate designs may cost more. Sheaths can be plain, tooled or carved. A custom belt, steel pouch etc can usually be made to order. I do not make sheaths with integral fire-steel loops.
Please be aware that it takes time to produce a custom knife sheath. A custom sheath is not something that will be made overnight. Each new knife requires a new sheath design and this takes time and care. Average delivery time is usually 3 to 6 weeks.
Note: I will only make a custom knife sheath if your knife is on the bench in front of me. I do not work from carboard patterns, measurements or pictures of your old Aunt Fanny. This is because I want to make a 'proper' job for you not because I'm being difficult.
Sending your knife to me: First Class Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery post is recommended. I'm happy for you to bring the knife to the workshop and watch the sheath being made but this must be by appointment - please call to discuss.
Materials are chosen according to purpose but include through dyed veg tan and natural veg tan. Finishes include beeswax, natural and oil.
Historically accurate sword and dagger sheaths are made to order with high grade oak bark tanned hide, tunnel stitched and moulded to the blade in traditional manner then hand dyed and finished.
