Cuff Bindings: Strips of soft leather or suede sewn onto the cuffs of a garment to protect it from wear. Cuff bindings are also used to repair worn cuffs on jackets, blazers and overcoats. They are also great for protecting and repairing the cuffs of trousers and jeans.
When I was a lad, the cuffs of my jeans were bound with soft leather to stop them fraying. I clearly remember the new cuff bindings being buttery soft with a fabulous smell. When I got big enough to wear a school blazer and later a jacket, their cuffs were also bound with leather to make them last longer. I tried unsuccessfully to find cuff bindings a few years back and eventually decided to make them myself. I choose lovely soft leather and each binding has pre-punched holes to make stitching easy. I do hope you enjoy yours as much as I did!

A very cool hand-wash will keep them nice for years. Do not dry on a radiator or direct heat source. It makes leather crispy and nasty and we don't want that!
