Custom made three-legged bolt for three-legged stools.
Simply make three legs (ours are 1.25" handturned in solid oak but hedgerow wood works just as well), drill a 1/4" hole in the centre of each. Insert the legs of the tribolt, thread on the washers and do up the lock nuts to create a tripod.
You can make the triangular seat from canvas, leather or any other tough material. Just create three pockets, one in each corner for the legs to tuck into. These need to be very firmly stitched as they support all the weight.
Very strongly constructed and fitted with locking nuts and washers.
Should last for ever!
